Several weeks ago Chris and I had the privilege of being invited to participate in a small, exclusive Master Mind group for a day, led by a guy we were eager to tap into.
Each participant would get 45 minutes to present what we wanted the group to work on with us. Before any of us began, he gave us his instructions.
“Decide,” he said. “Our time together is not about making a decision. Decide.”
I had to think about that for a minute. What was the real difference—besides words—between decide and make a decision?
His point: we all spend so much time thinking about something important to our business, examining it, making a list of pros and cons, talking to people who might know more about it than us, examining it again, sleeping on it, putting it aside for a bit because “if it was meant to be…,” and then examining it again.
That’s making a decision. A small piece of such a process is smart decision-making. But most of it is…well…not deciding.
What decision are you trying to make in your business?
What has been in your brain, on your plate, in your thinking for too long? What action within your business should be decided. Now.
You know.
Your instincts know. You just might be a little uncomfortable or nervous or scared about making the move.
Yet, you know.
It’s time.
Decide.
